The Restauration of an Exceptional Decorative Environment

In 1998, Grand Place in Brussels was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. At the same time, the City of Brussels and the Brussels-Capital Region mobilised considerable resources for the restoration of this exceptional architectural site in order to ensure its preservation. This special edition of “Brussels Heritage” focuses on the restoration of the facades of the houses on Grand-Place. Architects Paula Cordeiro and Marie-Noëlle Martou report on the project.
